Yup... I am definitely not looking forward to Thursday. At 11am I go in for oral surgery. I'm having 2 wisdom teeth yanked out. One of them is impacted and that really bites. I must say that having work done on my teeth is probably one of the few things that really gets to me.. Drives me nuts... But it's better to get it done now rather than later. So if I'm not on the end of the week then you'll know why :-D I should be able to sneak on a bit though since we'll have our new laptop by then :-D

guy i work with just got two yanked thursday after watching him struggle to eat soup and jello im so glad i had all four yanked at once

well the other two are good... they shouldn't need to be yanked. It's actually only the one that really needs to be yanked but if they yank that one and leave the one above it then that one will just continue to grow out beyond the gum line and it'd become painful down the road... Hopefully that makes sence...
So sometime today or tomorrow I get to go shopping and pick up some Jello and other foods that are easy to consume :-P

lipton box soup taste great ...i eat the stuff like its free but with the teeth yanked you ll have to make sure its not all that hot but its highly reccommended just cause im biased of course and you should have tried to get all four yanked at once it might seem bad but it wont hurt anymore than getting two yanked... but best of all you d never have to worry again since you re only getting two done if the need ever arises you re going to be completely miserable all over again
when i got mine pulled i had a sore in my mouth right at the teeth so i assumed it was my wisdom teeth
before i even made it to the evaluation thing it was healed but i figured i might as well just go see the doc and she said she could take them all and it would probably be covered under insurance so i said ok yank them and put me to sleep... otherwise they would probably still be trouble free but since i no longer have insurance im glad i got them yanked
good luck enjoy the week of liquid nutrition

you made ALL of the kid's food before he started eating "real" food...you shouldn't have too much trouble coming up with food to eat. Pureed steak? mmmmmm, yummy.

I'm too sick to have surgery this week.... so it's been put off til next thursday. Damn cold... they actually said I could have it but I wouldn't be able to be knocked out.. If i'm getting my teeth extracted I want to be out cold.

Fun, fun, fun. Going under is the best part. Right before you go to sleep. Walls start moving and the lights on the ceiling do funky things. After McDonalds shakes and strap some frozen peas or corn to your face. It sucks.

The only problem with MD's is they are so thick it might hurt to suck them through a straw (but they are good)... Maybe try Friendly's... Oh and good luck Eric...

There isn't a Friendly's near by.... BK and McDonalds are just down the street... In the oposite direction of the oral surgon but I'm sure we could swing down that way after surgery :-D

Make sure you ask the surgeon...in a recent discussion on another board someone said that you shouldn't drink out of straws for a while b/c of the risk of dislodging the clot and getting dry socket.
Gosh, hope that image doesn't make anyone queasy

I didn't have a problem really. But MD's are a little thick. Try letting it melt a little first. Maybe your wonderfull wife will have one waiting for you.

Still alive and kicking... Got some nice drugs.... so those wash away the pain nicely... It's more pain than I thought but the whole extraction went much faster than I thought. Took them maybe 10-15 minutes tops.

Wait till you wake up in the middle of the night when the meds wear off.
ewelin
Feb 16, 2006, 09:30 PM
yeah it starts to hurt once the meds wear off... they only last about 3 hours right now.. kinda sucks... but since i only had one side done i can eat pretty decently... just not too sure what i really want to eat... Well I really want a deep dish pizza... but that probably wouldn't be so easy to eat. I'm hoping the pain won't wake me up too much during the night, as that would really suck.

I tried not to use any prescription meds. So I only used Motrin or Tylenol I forget. Well I woke up in the middle of the night with so much pain I need a Vik so bad. Worst throbbing pain I have felt.
