So wtf does that mean? I saw the narrow ski stance, but is the chassis the same? Might be fluffanutter.... will wait for reviews of actual sleds before getting too excited.

Basically it means it's no longer called a MXZ Renegade, it's now just a renegade like a summit or GSX. Just a model name.... I think the smaller ski stance is just an option.

Sure I was a good boy this year. It wasn't that I didn't have the funds more of I was more interested in fishing and what not to get up there.

Seems BRP actually started paying attention (FINALLY) to what a lot of us 'Gade owners have wanted (and been doing) for some time now.... Summit skis (and stance), taller tracks... in other words a REAL "Crossover" sled... not just a stretched trail sled.
Basically you still have the trail-friendly (& tougher) coupled SC5 rear suspension (Summit has an uncoupled SC-Mtn.) with a track that will actually get you through the deep stuff (ask MaineSled how well that gets you up a mountainside of 3 feet of baseless fluff - he saw it in action  ) ... with the narrower Summit front suspension, yet it has a front stabilizer bar that the Summit lacks to help with cornering ability on the trail.
Basically you have my sled on an XP chassis with a 2-1/2" narrower ski stance.
I'm in... X-package please.

What is the stance on those ?
By old 550 was 44, the new toy has adjustables 38 - 42 which I have sitting at 40. A bit of a different ride but a whole lot more manuverable.

Center to center on all Doos since the ZX chassis is 42-1/2" for all except Summit which is 40".
Some Summit models can be adjusted to either.

I like the wider stance for the trails but the narrow ones do do better boom docking.
Thanks Dix.

http://www.dootalk.com/pressreleaseone.php?rptID=50 Dix, how does the 1.75 feel on the trail?

Depends entirely on lug design.
Something with lugs as thick & rigid as the Camoplast "Backcountry" will feel washboardy as all get out.
While the "Challenger" design will hardly feel that way at all... however, it's far less "durable" and if abused in boney conditions will end up pretty beat-up rather quickly.
I have the Challenger on mine and it's no rougher feeling than any 1-3/8 or 1.5" track... even on concrete hardpack.

I noticed a little more "vibration" in my seat when I put the 1.25 on. It is not bad at all just noticeable. I like the idea of a longer paddle just don't want to sacrifice the trail rides I go on as well. Probably wouldn't ride anything boney just the normal offtrail deep snow. Saw a lot of logging roads and trails that look like fun so I really want to be able to play when I want.

If you have a Renegade and want to maintain the 16" width (and why wouldn't you?) the stock BRP 1.75" "PowderMax" or the Camoplast "Challenger/Trail" are your only 2 options beyond 1.25" that I'm aware of.
If you don't mind stepping down to a 15" width there's the 1.75" "Backcountry" or the 1.5" "Intense" option... as well as the 1.325" "Cobra" (These options also available for 121" short-tracks as well)
I'm nothing short of really impressed with the capabilities of the Cobra... off-trails VERY well and smooth as silk on the hard stuff... probably the best 50/50 track I've ever tested out. (it's on her GSX) Another bonus is that it weighs less than most 1.25" tracks.
Expect to want to gear down by 1-tooth on the top gear for every 1/4" you increase the lug height over 1.25"... not that you'd notice much on-trail... but taller lugs really put a load on the engine in the deep.
