I'm tired of being taxed to be outdoors.
Once you start requiring licenses on non-motorized activities, where does it end?
What is next? XCountry Skis? Snowshoes? Hiking Backpacks?
Not to mention the number of times I have to go to the town office to get all this stuff done.
Why not just great an "Outdoor License".
The Outdoor License.
* Hunting/Fishing Endorsements
* Guide Endorsements
* Rescue Endorsements
* Other (sure I am missing some)
Convert Recreational Vehicles Registration into Operator Endorsements
Add Endorsements to your Outdoor License
* Power Boating
* Paddle Boating
* Snowmobiling
* ATV
(Super Pack: Discounted price for all endorsements)
This change would do away with the Stickers and instead charge the operator with being endorsed for the activity. Therefore lower the fee for each.
It might aid single operator families, but generate more revenue overall.
I would guess a slight majority of households are single operator households, Dad always drives the boat and/or the snowmobile. For those households you would see a slight savings. It would generate slightly more revenue on the multi-user side.
Allow:
- Register online (with print requirement like MOSES)
- Register at town office
Increase TimeSpan:
Allow multi-year Licenses to reduce the overhead of processing new registrations each year (reduced fees and reduced support overhead)
OR.... just get the thing voted down and protect our freedom to enjoy the outdoors.
