I posted this on another forum but I wanted you guys to see it. Found this idiots car stuck in a stream behind a beaver dam by my house. Whoever it was, was following my sled tracks and look what it got him. Serves them right if you ask me.

wow... how stupid can one be... taking a CAR down a snowmobile trail. Is it a marked trail? I've never riden on MA trails but aren't wheel vehicle disallowed on them? I can't believe someone was that stupid to drive a car down the trail like that... Must have been thinking no one else exists in the world.

When I posted it on HCS a lot of guys said did you take a pic after you smashed it up. I was tempted to give a little scrape but fiqured they were in enough trouble. One guy said to drive over it and posted a pic of his bro on top of an abandoned car. How pissed would that person be if they came back and there were about 20 stud lines running up the hood?
It is on an underground powerline that has gates at both ends. It is a SAM trail and has signs. This joker drove down a little side trail that I use for the sled to access the trail and then got stuck. Funny thing is on Sunday Night there was a jeep grand cherokee stuck in the same spot getting pulled out by his buddies truck when I drove by. I had to help them out because I couldn't get by. I asked them what the hell they were doing and they said just driving around man.

i'm not a big fan of vandalism... so i probably would have done the same as you... thought about it but not actually done anything. Can SAM issue tickets for stunts like that??? If so i would have jotted down their plate number and gotten pictures of everything and called them up ASAP. Who cares how much trouble they are in for getting it stuck.. they should get in trouble for only thinking about themselves and ruining the trails!!!!

The sad thing is there will be more of this as they have expanded a development closer to the trails. It makes it easier to access these areas.

that just sucks... have to figure out a way to limit it so only sleds can hit the trails. In cental NH they usually gate off the logging roads and such and require the sleds to twist around some trees in order to get on the other side... Kinda of annoying but prevents stuff like that from happening.

The problem is that access is getting easier. There is a gate there also but a little side trail to the right. Up untill this time I didn't think it was wide enough for one sled. It is a blind trail the whole 100ft, meaning it is all a corner. But the first truck that went through widend it just enough for this moron to follow his tracks. I am going to have to get some help and move some boulders so no one can get through. I am not being selfish it is actually impossible to get through this trail with all the standing water and rocks. Not to mention at the other end is a stone wall.

If we get anymore snow I will try and get out there. At least put up an idiot warning sign. I have not been able to get out there since.

So we aren't the only ones that have cars on our trails. Our biggest problems have been with the 4x4 group, nice bunch of guys, but they can't understand why their rigs mess up a trail, their current pres asked me why we even want a groomed trail :clown:
So I had to do a little educational explaining..... Hopefully we'll get them doing some grooming next...
We get PO'd cause we have so few groomed trails and when those get hosed it's a real pain....
If was TrippleTripple, why aren't you fixing the trail up :?: :?:

Beargst, same problem here. We get a bunch of 4x4's out on the trail everytime it snows. That is my biggest pet peave. I hate riding in a 1-2 ft rut down the trail. Drives me batty. Not to mention in the beginning of the season I had a truck full of hunters riding down a snowmobile only trail and wouldn't yield. My sled caugh the edge of a ditch and pulled me right into it 10 ft down. They did'nt even stop. Lucky I had a tow strap and 5 guys to help me out.

Well in good old Massachusetts that would be illegal. Way too many laws for the wrong reasons.

Know what you, let's not get started on gun control............

Are you saying that in a bad way? Because if I could I would ride around with a rifle in my gun rack. I have a license to carry for all Lawful Purposes and Mass is very tough on guns. I like Maine where you can carry them anywhere but of course they don't have the thugs and gangs that we do. I got a headache already. Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

Read my sig.... Me and gun control "do not" get along.. Up here I don't go anywhere in the woods without one. Last year they removed the CCL requirement to carry conceled, so as long as your not a felony or have other legal issue that would prohibit carrying a gun at all, you can just pack one.
I'm a firm believer that if they would remove the control laws they now have, crime would drop. I never heard of a muggler who wanted to get shot.
