I just bought a 1.25 track studded with I assume 1.375 studs. Anyone know if I will have a problem with the front cooler on my edge?

Took it to the dealer today to change track. They said it wouldn't be a problem.

nice... you'll like the 1.25" track.... if i ever go riding with you though... i'm not trailing you.... my gade used to toss up a huge rooster tail with the 1.25 paddles

Well I will be hard to get in front of. LOL. I try to ride really responsible and represent sledders as a whole. I don't roost off the start or fly around the trails either.

lol.... who said you'd be in front? gotta get there first.... I also like to ride in control and resposible... but i really like being able to open it up on the trails as well. I think that's why i really like Maine so much, no speed lmiits.... but i'm always curitious on the sled.

Plus in Maine it is like riding on a highway. You can't even tell how fast you are going. When I went I had to get on to some side trails to take some turns.

yeah... depends on where you ride... that's why i really like Rangeley, the trails are wide open... and then there are the trails that and nice and twisty.... and the trails from my in-laws camp to the main trails are a blast a real blast!. Man I hope I get to ride Rangeley atleast once more. Only had one ride in that area this season and it wasn't that great.

yeah.... about a 4.5 hour trip from here... It's just sad that they are not just starting to get decent conditions up there.

Casey, are you still thinking about selling your sled now that you are puting a new track on it? I thought about puting a 1.25 track on mine possibly even a 136" conversion in the future. I don't know what I want to do any more. If I had new shocks, a better track, and a higher seat I think I would be perfectly happy with my sled.

Hey Scott, glad to see you joined. I tell you what. The new track makes a huge improvement over the 1 inch track. It has 1.375 studs down the middle also. The best part is the dealer put my suspension into the bottom bracket mount and it raised my ride height 4 inches or so. It gave way more clearance and the ride is so much better. I will post a pic. If you keep the sled put the 136 and a 1.25 on. You won't need the higher seat if you drop to the lower brackets.
I am 5'9 so you get a little idea how high the seat is. I was parked next to my buddies rev and it was higher.

WOW! That is a lot higher! I never saw the other mounting hole on my brackets. Can you post a pick for my so I can see how it is mounted? I'm going to go look at my setup right now.

Scott not near my sled right now. If you look at your footwell under the stock hole there should be a black bracket hanging down. All you need to do is take out the bolts and install them there.

Eric funny thing happened. My buddy went over the bars on his rev when a ski got stuck in a little bridge and broke his windshield off. He was fine and a little later in the day I flew by him and he said I sprayed him so bad because he had no windshield. I had to laugh when I remembered what you said.

Thanks Casey, the name fits well. Sucks to be me though, my rear skid does not have the bracket that allow me to lower the suspension. :x

Here's something else that is kind of funny. I noticed in your pic where you are standing on the right side of your sled, your sled is missing the red reflector in the back. I'm missing the same one, actually I've lost that one twice now. I'm not even going to replace it again.

Mar 06, 2006, 09:29 AM
Yeah actually both sides are off. One fell off and the other was starting to so I pulled it off. They are only held on by a little bit of glue. Sorry to hear you don't have that mounting hole. I wonder why?
XtremeEdgeX
Mar 06, 2006, 09:49 AM
I don't know why it doesn't have the extra holes either. I wouldn't have thought there would have been a difference even thought there is a year in difference between the sleds. I thought the Edge stayed basically the same.

Same hear. Try posting that question on SF and see what some others have to say. I am interested to find out.

That's a good idea, I'll try that later. Have you noticed that Posting on that forum has really declined a lot in the past 2 months. I think everyone is depressed that snowmobiling is almost over.

Wow.... i can't how much better that sled looks.... It's still a polaris, but it def. looks like it'd be a better ride with that positiong :-P ;-)

I actually chipped a guys shield when he was following me a little to closely when i was on the Gade... that thing would toss up some huge nuggets.

I think everyone is depressed that snowmobiling is almost over.A lot of forums really start slowing down once winter is over... the spring is probably the slowest time for them. Riders are bummed out the snow is gone... too soon to start thinking about next year.... things just get quiet.... Hopefully it won't get too quiet over here :-D

I don't think it'll be to quiet, thats how we can set this forum apart from the other ones. We have to get eachother pumped up and encourage eachother to spend more money on new parts or new sleds! :thumbsupblue:

shhhh... wife reads this forum too... no mention of spending money.. LMAO. I wouldn't mind tinkering on my sled this summer one bit though. And i am really tempted to upgrade to the Pilot skis this summer but all depends on the $$$

I like the way you guys think. I myself actually belong to a Salt Water fishing forum also. So I have something to look forward too. Come April the Stripers start migrating North and it will be time to hit the beaches.

Oh I'll still be around, besides I got a feeling we'll be seeing winter earlier than you do, usually get our first ride in around November give or take (from the yard or earlier if we drive out of town) and I'll have my Vintage Sled running by next year :D

It's a slough, basically a creek that starts at the upper part of the Chena River, circles around and dumps back into the same river down stream.
Fishing good, but their small fry. Pike mostly, the King Salmon run up the Chena but not the slough :(
There is about 120 feet from the front door to the waters edge and the neighborhood is getting crowded, I can now see 3 of them :devil-flames: When I moved in, one of the priorities (main one), was that I could run a complete circle around the house naked and not be seen :bananadance:
Wife and I have talked about moving, too many people....
