OK, As you know I have the Renegade-X and it comes with a 16x136x1.250 I have been thinking of putting on a 15x136x1.250 Ripsaw w/ 162 Studboy 1.375 studs What would you pick stock track or Ripsaw, I ride just groomed trails and lake fun, no boondocking. My stock track has a gouge in it and I am getting a new track. My dealer says the Ripsaw works great. whats your opinions?

IMO The stock doo track is better. FWIW I have friends that ride some serious miles and they were happier with the doo track after they switched to the ripsaw.

I'll have to differ on this one. The ripsaw is a great performer. With that being said I would perfer a 136x15x1.25 ripsaw. Sorry TB:rolleyes:

Well I going to have both, just the track on there now has a little gouge in it where it rubed against the tunnel when they drove it into the trailer, Its still good my dealer says, He even recommends the ripsaw highly, he was saying it hooks up just as good if not better just I lose a little floatation when in deep snow or off trail, I mainly will be on grooved trails and the lake so it should be just fine... Thanks guys for the tips/info,,,, Gene

Doo track is better if you are going studless, studless ripsaw performs best on perfect trail conditions. I had planned on studding my gade last year but loved riding it with no studs. That track worked great in icy corners without studs.

Ripsaw definatly needs to be studded in my opinion but 162 may be over board as it is 1.25 with aggressive lugs. Back in the day of 1 inch tracks 162 would be needed.

I am putting 108 1.325 megabites in the Attak. Enough for traction when it is needed in icy conditions.

maybe its just that I am studding it myself and don't want to drill all those holes.

I agree with Dana on the number of studs. If you put to many in your going to notice some handling changes. The track itself is a great track and only need minimal help so I would also go with the 108 DTC.

The ripsaw is already predrilled from the factory with 162 holes all down the middle. The riding that I did get the 162 studs that was on my sled worked great, I mean this beast just hooked up and took off, I did feel the front end to be loose, So what I am doing is installing Studboys "new" Shaper bars 7.5 center and 6.0 outside my pilot ski`s, This will balance to sled out.

You dont have to have it come predrilled unless you want it that way. Sounds like you are sold on 162.

I have run with as many as 192 studs before and had to have the biggest carbide available to steer it. The more I ride the less studs I like but still run with a bigger carbide once we get good snow.

Yeah I am sold on 162. I drove it with out any studs and w/170+hp it just wanted to spin so much. and after I put the 162 all doubles wow talk about hook up, This thing would rip.... I called/e-mailed Woody`s and Studboys and the reply I got because of the HP of the Gade they both recommended 162 studs Min. and I`m glad I did....

I think the gouge in your track happened when your tunnel was driven into the track, it worked pretty freeley when we backed it in..my 02 crash..:D

Well I just got done replacing my track with about 2500 miles on it with a pre-drilled 1.25 rip saw fully clipped just in case I want to change to extrovert drivers.

Have you given any though towards a Predator track?
