Well now that we got this snow the trails will be super, I figure by Tuesday 5th, they'll be all groomed and even if they are not who cares. I want to know who's up for some riding during the week while the trails are empty, there's plenty of room to park here at the house and I have a queen size sleeper sofa thats available if you want to 1 day head up Rangeley/Bosebuck way and then the next day head towards Rumford or Skowhegan or even go somewhere overnight, I'm open to any suggestions just so long as we can put some mileage on and I have some company while doing so. Anyone up for it???

No idea. Need to develop a plan though. Would like to ride groomed trails. Haven't been to work in a week. Tue or Wed would be better for me I think. Thu have something going on with family.

Well we got a HONEST 18"+, I say + because its hard to tell because the wind was ripping so hard it drifted up in places and its not that fluffy crap that dissipates, its good packing snow so that'll give you an idea of just how hard the wind was. Once the groomers hit it the trails should be awesome. I'm free to go any day you guys want, though Tues. & on would probably be best, give the groomers a chance to get out and do their job, it'll make for a better ride.--- You are more then welcome to park here in the yard, there is plenty of room cleaned out to park a couple of vehicles & trailers or there is always the Park & Ride in West Farmington @ the head of the Whistle Stop Trailway(ITS89) across from the West Farmington Post Office, which is like 2 miles from the house or if either of you have another idea I'm up for it but I'll have to ride my sled to meet up as I haven't got the hitch in yet that I ordered. OK Dennis. Send me a PM with your address and a phone #. I can probably go tomorrow, Thu, or Fri. I only want to go tomorrow if the trails have been groomed. So if you think Thu is a better bet let me know. The weather liars are saying snow showers the next few days and Thu could be partly sunny.

Last night I came down off the MT. where my house is it was snowing and when I got down the bottom it was drizzling, I took a cruise around some of the trail crossings and they had been rough groomed, I don't know if it was because we has a new driver or they were just breaking the trail and had intentions of going back over them. The wind is howling out today but I will be going for a ride to check out the trails late this morning and I'll be back online about dinner time to post up on the conditions.

Mainesled, How are the conditions around you now? Is there a good motel you can park and ride from somewhat near you? I was thinking of going up either this Friday or Saturday but I'm not quite sure yet. I'm sure there will be a big rush of sleds up there after the recent storm.

On Route 2 in Wilton/Farmington. Real close if not on trails. new hotel. If Dennis doesn't get back to you I'd say you can't miss with this.
Enjoy year-round activities at Mount Blue State Park. Don't forget skiing! Enjoy the slopes at nearby Titcomb Mountain and Rumford's Black Mountain. Saddleback Mountain in Rangeley, Sugarloaf in Carrabassett Valley and Sunday River near Bethel also offer great skiing and are within one hour of this Wilton, ME hotel. If you enjoy snowmobiling, Maine's Interconnected Trail System (ITS) trails 82 and 89 provide direct access to the hotel. Snowmobile parking is available on site and trailer parking is available across the street.

Thanks for the info Steve. That place looks pretty nice. Do you think it'll still be early season conditions or is everything frozen up by now?

Should be decent riding. Nice ride over to Rangeley as long as there is no logging.

Probably frozen by the weekend. If you're on the main trails there should be bridges at most crossings. i have been turned around before by water but it's basically freezing every night around freezing most days.

just got an email from my father in law... he was up in Rangeley over the new years weekend and said they got 30" of snow at camp. Should make for some nice riding up that way once it's all groomed.

Eric, Is Wes your father in law? I believe that's what Casey told me... if so my dad ( Bruce Healy ) and I built that camp.

Eric, when we meet I tell you the rest of the story... in a nut shell, Casey posted a photo on HCS from a window up at camp... I thought it looked like it was the Jackson camp... I replied and asked if it was. Before you knew it I met Casey and Steve at the FARC in the West Forks for a ride.

I forgot about that. One of these days we will get the best of that Bald Mt. I saw how close I got to the summit... this past summer my wife and I hiked to the top.
