How many of you guys have used Simmons Flexi Skies? I rode a rev and it tracked very straight. I think if I put good skies and a higher seat on my sled I can get it to feel just as good or better than a rev.

I dunno about better than a REV... the ride position on a REV is pretty unque.... you may be able to get closer to the feel but it won't be a REV. :-P Better skis do definitely help.... the REVs came with Precision skis which were complete junk... Before 06 when Doo released the Pilot skis most REV riders swapped out the Pressions for good aftermarket ones. I haven't actually ridden a sled with Simmons but i've heard good things about them. I did get to try the Pilot skis on the REV and must say they are 10 times better than the Pressions

I don't know about better than a rev, but you can get it close. I went to a hillclimb yesterday and really noticed how the rev platform handles the bumbs. The revs just tracked straight even after hitting a bumb pretty hard but the trailing arm sleds kind of get shot to the left or right. Just an observation on my part though.

As far as skis are concerned if I keep my sled also I am changing skis. I have heard nothing but praise for the Simmons. I was thinking of the black and yellow lightning ones.

Another thing Scott, if you are going to put a lot of money into your edge to get it like a rev why not buy a rev.

The only thing I can say I really liked about the rev was the weight distribution. When I got a little air the entire sled was level unlike my sled. when I get air on mine the front end either drops or it climbs up like wants to flip backwards. It harder to get it to jump level. Other than that, I kind of liked the feel of mine more, that is probably just because I have so many miles on mine though.

See I am glad you joined. My sled feels exactly the same. If I hit a jump my front end comes up so high. Like a wheelie. I am pretty attached as well and we have put a lot of work into them. Just think how fun it would be to start over.

I'm affraid I'm going to lose to much money by selling mine. It would suck to sell for a lower price and end up not being able to find a reasonably priced newer sled. I would prefer to find a leftover at a dealer if I did sell. I've heard of the SDI engines having problems with their piston rings and I don't like the thought of Ski-Doo motors having plastic water pumps. I'm not crazy about the looks of the fusion but I do like the looks of Firecats. I was looking at a review of the 2007 F6 EFI R and they were saying that the AC F-platform is becoming outdated. You can probably see my problem, if I did sell my sled, I don't know what I would want. I wan a sled that is set up well for jumping and really aggressive riding.

Thats the thing. I would love to start over and I wouldn't, its a love hate relationship. I dumped over 2 grand withing 11 months into this sled, I would deffinately expect to get some of that money back. You and I do have an advantage, people really seem to like the Blue and Yellow Edge X sleds. The X package was and extra $200 so I figured that into my price.

I noticed the same thing on my 03 gade... whenever i would go to hit a jump the font end would just shoot up into the air... but that was on hte old ZX Chassis... as for on the REV i have noticed hitting jumps and bumps are so much smoother. I've only gotten just under 100 miles on the thing but it feels so much better than the ZX.... I did hit a small jump and did notice it was a lot easier to control the REV in the air.... it balanced so much easier... But you either love the ride position or you hate it. So far I'm a huge fan. I'm curious what I would think of the older rider position now that i'm getting used to a REV. I'm sure i'd hate it.

I've heard of the SDI engines having problems with their piston rings..... I wan a sled that is set up well for jumping and really aggressive riding. The ring problems were in 03 and 04 sleds... It has since been resolved though.... It was that the rings would flake and you'd see a loss in power.... If you're buying anything newer than 04 you really don't need to worry about the ring issue. I don't believe the SDI has any issues with the rings.... They do get really impressive gas millage though... very comprible to what a lot of the 4 strokes are getting.

I'm not sure how much you spent on your sled or how much you've got invested into it... but i did a lot of searching for REV last summer and you can find some smoking deals. I managed to snag my 04 Adrenaline 600ho this past summer. Got it from a dealer out in NY..... It was a bit of a trip to pick it up but the thing has a ton of addon... elec temp and gas gauge, X package handle bar and risers, X windshield and handgaurds, 144 picks. Also when I picked it up the dealer told me they had checked the rings and noticed they were starting to flake to they put new ones in for me... Not additional cost. I was thinking going into the deal I would have to replace the rings and found out a good ring kit is just over $100, but i lucked out!!! :-D I also snagged an e-start this summer and installed that and I figure i've probably got around $4500 into it. You could easily pick up a used REV within the 4-5k price range. Might be able to get some smoking deals after this horrid winter we've had. ;-)

Thanks for the info, all good points. I bought my sled brand new last March rode it for two weeks and only put 220 miles on it. Through the summer and up to now, I have invested a little over 2000 dollars. I put an EPI Pro Clutch kit, one tooth lower top gear, 144 studs, polaris security system, blue skies, chrome yellow windshield, chrome yellow hand gaurds, 3" bar riser, sylvania silverstar headlights, VF3 reeds went in last two weeks ago, I have a SLP Air Horn kit w/ two flo rites which are not installed, Woody's 6" carbides, mirrors that I had painted gloss black, belly gaurd, shock socks, and a MBRP Trail can. I now have 1,860 miles on it and my season is almost done. Every couple of hundred miles I would take it in the garge, whipe it off with an automotive quick detailing liguid and grease everything up. The sled would come with the matching jacket and the matching blue saddle bags. I was thinking about starting at $5,200 OBO

well if you do decide to part ways with it and jump on board a REV, let me know and i'll be sure to change your username :-P;-) LMAO. Looks like you've done quite a bit to your sled... Should be some pretty good interest in it though... curious... the the Polaris Security System wouldn't happen to be this would it???

LMAO! That is the security system! How did you know? The numeric key pad isn't actually connected to anything, its just to scare people away if they go past the AC cover. Those Thieven Bastards!

LOL. That will be a great sled for someone. The problem is like buying a home. Do you find a house before you sell your own or do you sell your own home first then wait to find another.

Here is a plan for this summer. I could put it up for sale and see how things go. As it is sitting for sale, I could try to pay off as much as possible on the loan for the sled. If it comes down to it, I could trade my sled in if I could get a good price for it, and whatever is remaining on the price of a leftover sled, I could add to the remainder of the loan that I was paying off. That way it keeps my payments down. Or if I sell it, I can pay off the loan for the sled and whatever is leftover I could use as a downpayment on a sled.

Nope, a Chow dog ;) ... best security system around. He's really a sweetie and will usually drive folks nuts begging for attention, but one day he actually bit a guy. Long story short, we took a trip down the Chena River (boat ramp is about a mile from house) to a restaurant in town called Pike's on the River, about an hour and half ride down river. Left the dog on the boat and we went in for Sunday bruch. Middle of our meal some guy comes in complaining about getting bit by this black Chow out on the boat deck and wanted to know who's dog it was. I asked him why and he said it bit him and he wanted to make sure he had his rabbies shots. So I told him he did and asked what happened, we were real surprised as Jake never bit anyone before, turns out the guy tried to get on my boat, Jake keep growling at him but he did it anyway, next thing he knew his hand and wrist was inside Jake's mouth.

What could I say, I brought Jake a big steak... :) :)

PS; I love my Simmons Flex skis... work great in powder in keeping the front end up on top

Those Thieven Bastards!Numeric Key Pad.... man that bites.... Switch to ski-doos... All sleds come with a DESS (Digital Encoded Security System) key.... and that's standard on all doos :-P

Sounds like a nice security system, he deffinately did the job. All security systems are is theft deturents. If someone wants our sleds bad enough they will get it. If they wanted all they have to do is take the belt off and tow it.
