Grooming 120 miles of trail thru 10 townships and two counties in the Katahdin region

Things are looking pretty good for the first big weekend of the season.
ITS81 is flatter than a flounder from the intersection in Sherman Station, north through Patten, on to Shin Pond, and beyond to the Camp Violette road. Please be careful on the last part of the snowshoe road as we are sharing that road with VERY large logging trucks. Slow down, stay right, and remember; TRUCKS HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY. They should be cleaned up by the end of next week.
ITS85 from the 85/83 junction, behind Sherman lumber , north to Big Sebois bridge, is (finally) fully groomed after a bit of confusion as to the trail direction. There is one small wethole problem about 2 miles north of the Sherman Lumber road crossing, so watch for it.
Connector trail 112 from Patten west to ITS85 is groomed and very nice riding.
Connector trail 112 from Patten to Island Falls is done and good riding except for a small winding/hilly section near Crystal Lake. There are some washout holes to go around so be careful.
Club trail 62 from connector trail 112 (retreat road) to ITS81 north of Shin Pond will be groomed the second time tonight. Beware that we are sharing parts of this trail with logging trucks.
Club trail 64 (pub trail) from ITS81 north of Patten to the Ackley Pond road will be done the second time tonight along with the rest of club trail 64 out to Shin Pond.
As always, Ride Right and don't tangle with log trucks. They always win!

Steve, thanks for the report. A group of us are planning a trip to Fort Kent leaving from Millinocket. Is this route possible. On a different sledding site I know of a few posters who had to turn around since getting North was too difficult.

Here is a link to your trail map on your site for everyone to see.

the trail from millinocket to whetstone bridge should be open before this weekend. that map will be taken down and replaced soon due to it being about 6 or 7 years out of date. I didnt even know it was on the website!!

Too funny, I just googled your club and that was one of the options. Thanks for the update on the trails.
