I have a question for other Sledmaine members. Are you able to log into the Sledmaine forums? The reason I ask is because when I try to log in it says that I am banned. I am wondering if it is just me or if the site is doing it to everyone.

I just want an answer to this question. I don't want to start a thread that ends up slamming Sledmaine. I just want an answer. I would like to know if I have been banned or if this is happening to everyone?

Thank you for the reply TB. It sounds like I have been banned then. Oh well. I have a feeling I know why but I will have to write to him and ask why?

We have been in contact with Todd from Sledmaine and he has informed us why were were banned and we am working out the details with him through email and workign on getting unbanned. I will not post the details in the open forum. I don't want to start a pissing contest with Sledmaine. That was not my intentions. I will just pass on that if that we are working out the details on this.

I am sure they were just surprised to see your site pop up as potential competition. Work things out politly and I am sure it will be fine.

I wouldn't let the ban worry me, it's their loss. Seems there still are a few posting there that should be banned but haven't been. Looks like lots of SledMainers joining your site recently. I read SledMaine for some good tech info and trail reports, but when it comes to all the BS and members attacking each other I don't find it amusing and just don't read it anymore. Keep up the good work admin .:)

I knew these two questions would come up sooner or later. I will not try and write a book with my reply.

I started this site for several reasons and it was not my intent to take any of the users away from the Sledmaine site. I started this site because I love working on the web as a hobby and snowmobiling also happens to be a hobby that I love. So I figured why not create another web site for a hobby that I love and so many others love as well. I currently run three other web sites just like this one so I know what I am doing and keeping the software running and up to date will not be an issue at all. If we grow as large as any of my other web sites we may have to move to another server but that is an easy task and I have done it before. Like I said I did not start it to take users away from the Sledmaine site. With that said. I will say I do not like the software they are using it is very old software and outdated. I hate going to any web site and that has new messages posted in it and in order to read the new messages you have to remember where you left off the last time you were on that site. The way this forum software works you can click on NEW POSTS and then it list all the threads that have new messages that have been posted in them since the last time you logged on. Then from that listing you can click on the down arrow on the left of the thread title and it will bring you to the newest message that you have not read in that thread. This elevates trying to find out where you lest off last time you logged on. It does it for you.

So in one sense I did create the site because I did not like Sledmaine, but it was not the site or the users that I did not like it was the software that I did not like because it is lousy and over a year out of date. But I am not going to elaborate on this to much because I am not going to start anything between the two webs sites. Sledmaine was a very good web site at one time and if someone was around to update the site then I may have never created Maine Sledder.

That is all I am going to say on that. Who am I, does it really matter who I am. I will let the web site speak for itself. For those that want some background about my web experience, I have another web site that has 7,218 online users and 8,453 online photos. I know what I am doing. If everyone really wants to know who I am I will tell you? I will tell you this though. I have met a bunch of you already through Sledmaine. Masterblaster, Blackcat, Broken bones, dblacks(I think), Dmannblackx, Fzmxz, HuntFishSled, Mainiac, Idood2, TrueBlue, Side-Saddle, Temptationzwingz, Sled head, Ranger777, Moe, and I am sure there are more I am forgetting.

Go to the gallery and click upload, you can browse your pics, click on the one you want to upload

My opinion on Sledmaine is with Vmaxlady being the moderator and running her Cabin deal is a total conflict of interest.. She will always baby sit and cater to the people who rent from her. She let the Renegadex post go and he got the sh1t...Not a day goes by that the cabins are not mentioned... She has dragged the Sledmaine board down to her crownies.... The name of the site should be Sledmaine Caribou Cabins....

Yes Todd finally did give me access back to the site. I have been there a couple times since. I don't fallow the threads there anymore so I can not comment of what you are talking about and wouldn't anyways. We don't need to carry anything like that onto this web site if that is what is going on there.

Don't quite agree with what you are saying here, Tracy is top notch, she has a difficult job keeping some people in line..you need to take a trip to the County and meet the folks up there, very decent people, my 02

When you run a buisnees you do what you have too in order ot make a living. If she is paying for adds then she has every right too and I would too if it helped the buisness.

I have never stayed at her cabins..........

She is good people.........and that is that. I dont think she even enjoys being a moderator anymore. WOuldnt be surprised if she gave it up. She doesnt need her name and business run through the mud here or anywhere.Thats a little low IMO.
