Compression Issues

I have a 96 SkiDoo Grand Touring 580. Recently it would run rough on one cylinder for about 15 seconds and then would run fine. I tested the compression and found that it was 80 on one side and 90 on the other. I was told it should be up near 140lbs. I took the cylinders off and measured them with a telescoping gauge and micrometer. They seemed to be within tolerance. The engine only has about 3200 miles on it. Should new rings and a new gasket kit do it?

If you've got it apart it would be worth a try. You should measure the pistons and well as the bore to gauge the difference. Good luck.
