I have a question about Amesoil.
What are the advantages of using Amsoil over the standard Ski Doo oil? Is it cheaper, cleaner, what is everyone raving about?

I use it in my Arctic Cat and it is cheaper than the AC oil. You just need to sign up as a prefered member to be able to buy it at the dealer cost. I bought 4 gallons in order to make it worthwhile for shipping. I still am all set but depending on how much riding I get in this year I may be ordering some more sometime this winter.
If you find someone that is an Amsoil dealer I think that the list is still less than the sled brand but it won't be as cheap as buying it yourself.

Or go in with a buddy and become a prefferd customer/dealer/member or whatever it is and order it together.

I went out and bought a gallon of Amsoil today for $24.95. If there is anyone here that is a preffered dealer please let me know. I would like to get some more if I can get it less then $25 a gallon.

I ran hp in my 04 gade 3600 mile never had a prob. have heard some guys go back in forth from the intercepter and the hp. They also have the high end racing dominater oil $$.Dmann has run the hp in his sdi , but I will not speak for him ;) Atroll I think you can go on the site and sign up to be a prefered customer and you save some $ on things. do not quote me on that  Our dealer is part of the fam so we saved some coin. Not sure of price this year cuase I sold my sled and not able to ride:mad: good luck in the search.

he hasn't called you cause he doesn't wanna pick on a cripple! as MOP said i run the hp in my sled and have checked my valves a few times, seems to be working alright a little dirty and i use a little more then i would if it were doo oil. but i was 15 dollars cheaper then the doo synthetic!

and I will not be riding behind any of you because Amsoil smells stinky! hehe!:D
my husband has run amsoil in his sled and he thinks it runs fine but i don't like the smell and neither does he. there are only a handful of oil manufacturers that make everyones oil just in different packaging. we are currently running synsno by golden spectro and we like that. you can find it for $100+/- a case and it is full synthetic.

yes i'll have to admit, amsoil does stink, it smells like burning plastic, i think you can purchase amsoil hp, at browns snowmobile in benton, for 22.50 a gal., i'm running phillips injex pro, seems to be fine no smoke, and my riding buddies like it better then the klotz i was running last year," they are always behind be ":)

I've never run Amsoil personally but I know people that ONLY run it in there Doo's since brand new. One guy had a Mach III with almost 10,000 miles on it and it have never been touched. Still ran like new. Another had a 95 and 97 Mach Z both with high miles and they also ran like new. I never hopped on the band wagon because the stuff is pricey and REAL pricey trailside unless you bring your own which is just a PITA! I personally have a 98 XLT Limited with 7500 miles on it and its either had regular Polaris oil or the cheap Castrol oil put through it. Still going strong and runs like the day I bought it with 268 miles on it.

I ran amsoil in a non-ves 600cc Poo. Never had an issue, but my buddies said it stank worse than Doo oil and their eyes would burn. I can't see how that could be since all I ever saw of them was their iddy bitty headlights about a 1/2 mile behind me........
I started out with Doo full synth in my 600sdi Doo. Very clean valves at the end of a 2,000 mile season. Switched to synth blend oil when Doo came out with it's new recommendation for sdi engines. A little dirtier than full synth after 1,900 miles but not bad. I guess for me, if Doo thinks i should use a blend, then Amsoil is not an option.
