I have a REV 2005 MXZ 600 SDI and I have the stock carbides on the sled. It has picks on it. I want to get some new carbides. I have been told that since I have picks I should get more carbide caverage. Is this true? If so could any of you suggest what carbides to get for my sled?

How many studs are in it?

How aggressive are you?

Are you still running percision skis?

for the typical rider, 4 inches on both sides of the paercision ski are usually enough, If you are a little more aggressive you could go with 4 on the outside edge and 6 on the inside edge or even 6 on both inside and outside. The Inside edged will wear more since it is the edge used when turning since the outside of the ski lifts up when turning.

The more studs pushing the more carbide needed to grip in the turns. I got 144 studs w/8'' of carbide,on each side of percision skis. Got alot of grip.

I put in 162 pic`s with Studboys 7.5" center and 6.0" outside Shaper bars, But like they said/mentioned 6"in/out should work real good. I hear alot of good reviews with the new Shaper bars from Studboys...:)

I knew that was coming. I should have kept my mouth shut. But maybe if I had 10" carbides I wouldn't have had sore ribs. LOL

I went and got 6" carbides Sunday and after looking at them there looks like there is only room for about 2 more inches of carbide. Did you really have 10's on yours BC?

Wow. Then the set I got would be condsiders 12" carbides then if you are adding them that way. I got 6 on the outside and 6 on the inside.

There is a happy medium, you will steer very good but your rear end may break loose when you corner hard, we will see!
