We've added a new forum here at SledX and it the [url=http://www.sledxtreme.com/viewforum.php?f=64:552b8]News Feeds[/url:552b8] Forum. This forum will contain several different national snowmobile news feeds. The posts only contain headlines and the first few sentences of the new article but is very informative. I hope everyone likes this new feature and if you know of any XML or RSS news feeds for snowmobiles let me know and i'll see about adding them to the list. Also let me know what you guys think about this new forum!

I like it, but you have the same prob I did with it, the cost to read the articles.

We can read the first para then have to subscribe to read the rest, at least on the NYT site :(

I joined newsisfree.com and try to find snowmobile articles, it's only $20.00/year and lets you have RSS feeds you configure, but you are limited to the feeds/articles you can get.

hmmm I'll have to double check the new york times one then... I thought it was public reading :-(.... bummer. Maybe I'll have to remove that feed then.

so what's everyone think of this forum? Do you actually check it out at all? Currently it checks the feed every hour and posts the new messages, should I adjust it to be less frequent or is it good as it is?

Eric, I read a few but I don't like when I click on unread topics and there is like 30 news feeds.

hmm... maybe i'll see about removing that forum from that particular search feature..... would that work out better?

I think so. It isn't that big a deal but I need to search to find the posts I am looking for. I like the news the only thing is they all seem to be of injuries.

yeah i've been noticing that as well.... mostly about crashes. :-/ kinda sad that's all that makes the news... but i guess that's the fact with most news though.. always going for the negative.

How about ya pull it from Recent Topics, then it'd be easier to see what's actually been posted.

well temporary manual fix would be to go to the news feeds forum first and click the mark all topics read link ;-) I'll see about fixing this during the week.
