Wow, does anyone visit this site? Hello, anyone out there?
Looking forward to chatting with someone who has ridden this past weekend. I'd be nice to know how far up north you have to go to get some riding in.
Thanks.

The site seems to have died out slightly. I think a lot of people are discouraged with the spring like conditions in the middle of January. I know I am, its pretty depressing. From what i've heard you need to go no further south than Presque Isle for decent riding. If you go further south its pretty hit or miss, you'll find decent riding but you'll also find bad riding.

It is very similar to last year. On the 14th of Jan. last year the temp was 55 deg. and it poured all day. How weird is that?

I have secured some loging up in Jackman for this coming weekend. My buddy was up there this weekend and said it's not that bad once your 10 miles or so out of town. What the heck... can't ride in Southern Maine. I went to www.sledmaine.com and they updated there trails conitions this morning. Reports are that Pittston Farm to the Outhouse, Outhouse to Rt 88, and Pittston Farm to Seboomook Dam is groomed an in decent shape. I guess I'll have to take there word for it. I've been to the farm but not to Seboomook.

I was up in Presque Isle and did a 190 mile run to Fort Fairfield and on up to the border trail, over to Madawaska with dinner at Lakeview in St. Agatha before heading back to the hotel in PI after a quick stop in Caribou. Spring like conditions. A decent one-day ride . . .
I really would like to see some snow down my way though.

Yup. You know it's funny I've lived pretty much all of my life in Maine except for a few years when I lived in the South (I went to school in New Hampshire) and it wasn't until three years ago that I ever made my way to the County . . . and now I can't stop myself from going up there. ATVing and geo-caching in the Summer . . . and sledding in the winter.

We were supposed to leave for Caribou tomorrow a.m. but are canceling it due to the reports that we are reading about and getting from people up there.

This is unbelieveable! Whatta lame season this one has become. February 20th now and I havent heard one trail report thats made me want to race up to Maine to do some riding. So far i've put 20 miles on my sled this season just riding around in the hay fields near my house. Can anyone even remember a year in Maine thats gotten as little snow as this one?

i have been riden every weekend since december, i got 1550 miles on so far, elevation is where its at,but only being an hour and a 1/2 away from where we ride makes it a little easier, i had to go to mansfield mass. last friday for some chrysler training and on the way home i was counting trailer after trailer heading towards maine, on 495, i just couldnt imagine haven to drive way up here from down there to ride:eek:
