I need to make a decision here real soon.

Do we want to keep this web site going or close it down. Let me share my reasoning for starting it and then maybe others can help me decide on what to do.

Nothing against the Sled Maine web site or the administrator when I say this because I am just using this to help explain what I started this web site.

For a long, long time the administrator of the Sled Maine web site would not update his forum software and it was over a year out dated or longer. I personally posted on the web site asking if he would please update it so that we the end users could take advantage of some of the new options like the "read new post" option and many more options. None of my posts ever were responded to. I would follow up with posts asking over and over again with no response.

So with that all taken into consideration I decided to open this web site with the forum software I am very familiar with and I could keep it updated because I use this forum software with my other three web sites.

As soon as I put this web site online the administrator of the Sled Maine web site updated his forum software. If he had answered my posts and done that in the first place then I would never of had to put this web site online.

With the few individuals we have here on this web site we have seemed to have become a tight knit community. I really hate to take it down, but the issue is purchasing the forum software. It is up for renewal and if it is not going to get used then I can not see paying for the renewal fee.

What does everyone else seem to think about this. I would like to here from others.

I've tried to get people to start chatting over here by posting every now and then but I keep checking back every day or so and rarely see new posts. I really dont get it, I think this site could take off if people would post every time they stopped in. We just need to get some topics going. I wanted to try and get a group ride together last year and that was going well until mother nature cancelled our plans. I'd love to get something like that going again for this season. We just need some posters to get it started. Maybe once snow flies this site will get going again.

After the weather we had last year, I kind of forgot about all of the sites for a while, hopefully this year is better.

I was hoping some of the guys that don't post on Sled Maine would have came over here.

I am not much for posting myself unless I can add something useful unless it is some I know that can take joke.

I hope it picks up or I wouldn't blame you for pulling the plug no use having something when its not used.

I know what you mean. I was really looking forward to getting a group ride in last year but it never even really came close to happening because like you said mother nature would not cooperate. I put less then 300 miles on my sled last year compared to 3,400 the year before. I was really disappointed in the weather last year. I sure hope we get a lot of snow to make up for the crappy year we had last year.

I am predicting snow for Thanksgiving and I am crossing my fingers.

It's ok if you want to shut it down Rick, I won't hold it against you!

I'd hate to see it go down. I think it could pick up once the cold weather really hits. We're still over a month away from decent riding, probably more. Give it a chance, it'll pick up.

To be honest Rick I was checking this site for awhile, but it just seemed so dead compared to the Sled maine site, so I kind of stopped coming by and even forgot about it until it was just mentioned the other day at Hardcore Sledder.

I'll try to make a better effort at checking in here from time to time.
